Well played and still lost twice – the Mallards are getting closer to their first win of the season, but it wasn’t enough yet in Schwaig.
The first game was lost already in the first inning, when the Mallards allowed 11 runs. One unlucky error in the 8th at bat with two outs resulted in 7 unneccessary runs. After this bad start, the Erding team played better than what is shown by the linescore. Jakob Reuter scored twice and hit a double; Jörg Baumgärtner went 3 for 3 with singles and Christopher Settles had one single and a double.

In the second game, the Mallards offense couldn’t produce anything useful against the good Schwaig pitching. Only two hits (by Sven Bornhagen and Christopher Settles) and ten strikeouts explains, why the Mallards only managed to score once. After two errors in the first inning, the defense did work quite well, though. Neither can the two pitcher Jörg Baumgärtner and Jakob Reuter be solely blaimed for the loss.
