Lots learned in the first Livepitch games

Our Livepitch team played its first games last weekend. The kids put the losses against the Red Lions in Schwaig away well, after all, most of the players were facing live pitching for their first time. The coaches of the day – Chris Hofstetter, Anders Lind and Gerald Vogel – were especially pleased to see, that so many of the players wanted to try out the pitcher and catcher positions. For this age group, there is a mandatory limit of 18 batters faced per weekend, which means, that a pitcher can’t play more than around 2 innings. On the mound stepped Florian Ihlefeldt, Sebastian Dornacher, Lara Zachmann and Elias Hofstetter. Ihlefehlt, Dornacher und Hofstetter also made appearences as catcher, together with Lena Zachmann. They had many rushes towards the backstop to pick up the balls flying past them. Max Emme did two excellent outs in his first game on 1st base.

Only Florian Ihlefeldt scored in the first game; in the second game he and Elias Hofstetter scored twice. Leopold Emme, Lena Zachmann and Moritz Bott reached bases but were unable to score.
