A promising start

With perfect weather conditions, the Mallards’ tossball team welcomed the Garching Atomics to Erding in a game full of suspense.

With a winter full of batting practice, and a league more geared towards pairing up teams with similar strength, the season opener was very even: both teams displayed good hitting and a thirst for runs. Especially thanks to the homerun by Cedric Gürsoy, the first inning ended 4:4. Too bad that the Mallards couldn’t quite keep up with the guest in the other two innings. They weren’t too disappointed with 10:13 though.

In the second games, after a short break, the young Mallards upped the pressure some and took the lead with 10:9. The player of the day, Kilian Rebhan, tagged several opposing runners. Newcomers Tim Hilsendegen and Sebastian Muñoz-Bauer can be more than happy with their first game. The Mallards lost control of the ball at home a few times in the third inning, which resulted in their losing the second game by three runs as well by 17:20.
